Well, this Vickyvette’s “Into the Universe” ending part is such a joy for my ear (and soul?). Is this some kind of trance? Psychedelic? Psychedelic trance (psytrance)? I’ve made a cut version of it, so listen to it first then you name it! You decide it! What’s the proper term for this kind of feelings.

Here are some definition of the terms above I drove from Wikipedia:

Nah, I didn’t pirate their songs! They did it themselves, sharing away their songs and let everyone hear it for free. Yeah! They did it!

I got the answer from here, They distribute their music for free in order to introduce their music for the audience to hear and to receive feedback from them. And it can also be a very valuable lesson for them in the near future when the ‘real’ album is ready.

Vickyvette band was formed in 2006 by four school friends, Muhammad Rayhan Sudrajat (Guitar & Vocal), R.Prajadipha Akbar W (Guitar), and M Shadian Merwyn (Drums). This band has chosen as a finalist in the LA Light Indiefest year 2008. Actually, what makes me interested to this band is their music. They offer a fully experimental musical genre. While listening to their music, we will realize that their songs are rich in content, rich in aesthetic, well-arranged, pretty lyrics, powerful, and yet unique, which perfectly formed their very own and strong musical character. For me, it is such an oasis within this oh-so-pop-or-whatever-’mendayu-dayu’-and-identical-and-oh-so-boring-music-you-name-it era. So brave! Salute!

They have released their first Extended Play (EP/mini) album last year, it titled “Unconscious Shimmering”. Containing 7 tracks:

If you ask me, which songs do I like? I will say; all. Hey fool, I asked you, which songs do you like most? Oh, okay, I will mention “Tsunamilogic”, “Meditation of Poverty” and “The Moon and the Sun”. Well, everybody may have their own like, eh? May be the same, may be not

Oh, they also included some Indonesia’s traditional element. In some song, we can hear the sound of flute (Suundanese traditional musical instrument). Well, it perfectly clear that they also want to let the world know a bit about Indonesia’s traditional musical instrument.

Actually, I’m not a good musical commentator, and can’t give personal in-depth analysis nor comment related to the songs. But, the only thing I can do is recommending you to listen to their great music.

What about the band name? Do you have any comment? Are they inspired by an ‘adult movie’ actress, Vicky Vette?

Err… I don’t know. You may ask the band personnel personally. I can only conclude a dumb opinion that the band name is such a creative use in promotional manner

Proyek video klip yang digarap sejak 14 Agustus 2010 hingga 13 Oktober 2010 (kurang lebih selama dua bulan) ini merupakan video klip pertama dalam rangkaian promosi musik band teman saya, Anthurium, band indie asal Palembang yang digawangi oleh Toni Rahadiyanto (lead guitar), Guntur Cakra Yudha (guitar), Musliman (vocal), Beri Chandra (bass), dan Faisal Julio (drums). Tadi pagi (atau udah siang ya?) :P saya iseng membuka Gambas2, dan tidak ada niatan untuk membuat program baru. Yah, namanya juga iseng

Namun tiba-tiba ide itu datang, ketika berselancar di Kaskus, terlintas di benak saya untuk membuat program yang berisikan kata-kata yang umum digunakan di percakapan sehari-hari para penghuni The Indonesian Largest Community itu :) Beruntung saya menemukan thread yang dibuat oleh Gojess (salah seorang penghuni Kaskus) disini. And finally I coded and finished these really-really simple program. Both for Windows and Linux
